Big issue: nachni chips

Read the signs. Look over this blog and see how often chips crop up as a problem. And sound the alarm.

Today, after post-workout dinner, devoured half a pack (or more) of these chips as if it were a right since I had worked out. Well, it's not. It's important to take in quality nutrition, not trash.

It's important to quit eating trash to get a good, delicious physique (that'll look awesome in all those Zara clothes).

Chips probably have some cheap oil - and a reasonably large amount. And they're doing nothing for you. Have fresh food. If you're not hungry for nachni rotis, then you're not hungry for chips. For taste, one handful with green tea - during the day - is all.

Please note this piece and act on it. No more wanton, unthinking eating.

Think before you eat.

Pull ups

Disappointing issue - can't do pull ups. Need to address this and do 6 clean pull ups with good form, in 3 months. Deadline date: 25 Sept. Will track progress on this blog.

Eating discipline: specifics

Stop eating carbs without being aware at night; stop eating nonsense food like suspect nachni chips, high salt chana and anything which might be trash. Eat roti if you're hungry. If not hungry, don't eat. Eat protein and eat every 3 hours.

No eating crap and no munching on little, odd tid bits. Make a meal or a wholesome snack.

Eating discipline

Eating discipline taking a beating; this is not about the calories but about eating awareness and not munching on things mindlessly but eating for nourishment. Eating is NOT a substitute for entertainment or anything else.

Also, take some pride in body building.

Common refrain - night carbs control

Reading through fitness posts, there is one big concern that turns up. MUST address and not lapse now. This is carbs at night in the shape of nachni chips and the like.

Danger signs

A danger I have to watch out for - missed workout for Smriti's book launch (which is fine once in a while), but also gorged on nachni chips. It's tough to manage the adjustment on diet on non-workout days but it is necessary.

In fact, it must be of primary importance to not be lax on the diet - in any situation where workouts are not regular, it is the critical key to staying slim. Must eat as per the body's need and be very conscious of this. Eating carbs like nachni chips late at night is a recipe for going off the rails.

Also eat as per the requirement of the next 3 hours. And eat every 3 hours.

Any exceptions at parties etc. must be sparingly done.

Evening meal too heavy for non-workout day

Diet is 80% of the whole equation so have to watch it carefully.

May be getting used to bigger meals - while this is okay on workout days, it piles on the calories on non-workout days. Must be careful. Small, frequent meals, eating just until you're short of full. Especially not high carb meals on non-workout days - include more fresh salad etc. to keep things healthy and stay full.

Big meals not a good idea in general as a principle.
