The beginning of the routine (again)

On 15th October, 2007 decided that I won't eat like a pig. Have managed that for every single meal since then. Not bad. Have had a few extra calories once in a while (especially wine!), but no deep fried stuff, no sweets or refined flour. Dramatic actually, considering I would have a bag of wafers and a chocolate cake pack every second day without even thinking about it. I think I have cut around 500-750 calories out everyday. Basically I've been keeping myself satiated with fruit.

On 26th October decided that I should start waking up in the morning and go for a walk. I went for 13 days straight without missing a day and was doing 3.2 kms in 35 minutes. Then I missed 6 straight days. Glad to say I picked myself up this morning to go again - also glad that I still did 3.2 in 35. The important thing is consistency, have to manage to maintain that over a long period and not injure myself by getting over-enthusiastic. This is a year-long plan, have to stick to it. Better to take a day's break to save a 6 day break - or go for golf in the morning once in a while for variety, rather than monotonously walk every day. That way, I'll still be walking 6 months into the program, won't have quit after 2 months of being superhuman. Go easy. But go for life.
