Even at this stage letting ones guard down means a binge - though it's just watermelon, it's still a binge! EVERYTHING you eat counts! EVERYTHING! Small portions, many times a day. No binges.
Simply put, my attempts at dropping 20 kgs over the course of a year and the things that accompany it. The obsession with every factor involved in fitness, the compulsive calculation of calories and the psychological discipline required in understanding yourself. Losing weight, getting fit - it's an extreme sport.

Back to steamed chicken and fish
Of late have been having the regular preparation of chicken with oil - it may be not a good idea. Think I feel very full over dinner partly because the oil makes it heavy. Have to get back to steamed fish and chicken - which is quite good taste-wise anyway. Need to separate the "normal" food Smriti needs with the steamed fare I need.

Celebrating landmarks!
Landmark check.
Now at 92 kgs – a full 30 kgs down from the 122 kgs I had become in 2006! Also, now wearing size 34 Lee’s – last year, I couldn’t pull up, let alone button the 38s – and that was the largest size they made. It’s nice to be back in the regular sizes again! Basically, on the 8th wedding anniversary, I’m probably slimmer than I was when I got married, though maybe not as strong yet, I remember I did do 30+ push ups then and am only approaching 25 now.
But still, unbelievable. Really have to pinch myself to think I’d come to a stage where I’d actually start working on actual fitness rather than on not being obese, it always seemed like a distant dream. The best part – it took just 6 months. But now the big challenge is to keep working on the fitness and strength. It’s a good thing I enjoy myself at the gym – and the diet is a little more relaxed. Have to work on variety for lunch and the evening meal. Happy with fish and chicken for dinner but need to get some fun into the diet once a week, without going overboard in the dessert way.
Also – good lesson that the one day I went without an evening meal to the gym, I could hardly push myself. So, it’s better to eat something that’s even not ideal every three hours than to skip a meal. Keep the granola bars and soya milk handy.
May need to make this blog public – quite embarrassing! Readers (if any), please note this was meant to be a private blog which is why it’s so idiotic.

Snacking too much on chana
It's adding carbs to the diet at night - MUST go off it. Chana only during the day. The point is not even that but MUST NOT revert to old habits of greedy and mindless eating. Small limited portions only.
